About the role
This is a permanent full-time role working in the Waste Services team where you will support the Division Manager to ensure that Eurobodalla Shire Council is at the forefront of operating and delivering progressive and cost-effective waste management services. You will have oversight for a broad range of waste initiatives, contracts and capital works projects that contribute to improving waste operations and strategic planning for future waste management activities.
The main duties of the role are as follows:
- Review, development and implementation of strategies, policies and procedures in accordance with relevant regional, state and federal priorities to enhance waste management practice within the Eurobodalla.
- Record and report on data to demonstrate progress towards waste reduction and recycling targets, meet statutory reporting requirements, and contribute to Council’s Operational Plan and Delivery Plan, Community Strategic Plan, and quarterly and annual reviews.
- Prepare, administer and report on contracts relating to waste management, waste diversion and waste operations.
- Source and apply for external funding for waste projects.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of Council’s waste Budget within the areas of assigned financial responsibility.
- Represent Council and establish working relationships with relevant regional and Government organisations to promote Council interests and corporate objectives.
About you
If you have an interest in resource recovery and recycling, waste minimisation and diversion, we would love to hear from you! You will be able to deliver strategic and major waste projects that align with Council’s planning and delivery objectives in Eurobodalla’s waste strategy.
To be successful, you will need to demonstrate the following:
- Experience in contract management and delivery of strategic and major projects.
- Ability to manage budgets and expenditure in line with Council’s waste budget and long-term financial plan.
- Demonstrated experience in database management, data analysis, and reporting.
- Understanding of the waste services sector and regulatory environment.
- High level experience in the delivery of waste management services in a local government context.
Salary information
Total remuneration for the role is in the range $114,239.92 to $126,260.70 gross per annum consisting of:
- $102,457.33 to $113,238.30 base salary
- $11,782.59 to $13,022.40 superannuation (at 11.5%)
A fully maintained Council leaseback vehicle (including full private usage) is available with this position.
Appointment to this position is subject to a satisfactory outcome as a result of a National Criminal History Record Check.
