Waste Relief Operator

About the Opportunity

At PMHC every employee plays a part in ensuring we work together to achieve positive outcomes for our community. To help us achieve this we are seeking a Waste Relief Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will undertake all waste relief operational tasks as directed to meet operational needs, in accordance with Council’s applicable operational policies, standard operating procedures and Safe Work Method Statements.

On a typical day, this role will:

• Operating bogie trucks.
• Using machinery such as loaders and excavators.
• Driving a 4-tonne Hi-Ab truck for tipping runs and managing illegal dumping.
• Assisting at the weighbridge and transfer stations.

To succeed in this role, you will:

• Class Medium Ridged (MR) Drivers Licence.
• Demonstrated communication skills in both receiving and issuing instructions.
• An understanding of the fundamental elements of the Work Health & Safety Act & Regulations.
• Basic computer skills, including the ability to reconcile cash receipts and accounts.
• Demonstrated skill in interpersonal relations particularly in dealing with members of the public, customers and employees.
• Ability to work an irregular roster including Public Holidays.

Remuneration and Benefits

Employment type: Permanent, full-time role (38 hours per week with 9-day fortnight)

Salary (exclusive of super): Starting salary of $1,133.69 per week with the opportunity for competency-based progression.

Allowance: Adverse Working Conditions Level 2
