WATER YOU WAITING FOR?

The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the operation of plant and machinery in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure

Key Accountabilities:

  • Operate, service and maintain a water truck in a safe and effective manner within the limits of the truck for a range of activities, including filling the truck safely and efficiently using a variety of methods
  • Achieve optimum moisture content of pavements taking into consideration the stage of the works, the purpose of works being undertaken and the varying quality and composition of the materials being used
  • Ensure works comply with quality systems including standard of works and environmental protection issues
  • Read, interpret and set up Traffic Control Plans (TCP’s) and assist in the provision of traffic control services
  • Assist set out works, establish line and level from reference points fixed by others and carry out ongoing checks of the accuracy of the works being undertaken during a project
  • Use and maintain small plant and hand tools in a safe and effective manner
  • Contribute to a positive safety culture within the organisation to ensure a safe workplace for our people and the community by monitoring compliance with policies, procedures, legislation, specifications, projects plans, and any other documentation required.

We are looking for 

A team player who is motivated, proactive and supportive of team needs and objectives. You are flexible and adaptable in finding solutions and responding to change. You are focused on delivering quality outcomes for our community with a safety-first focus. You have experience in operating and maintaining a water truck including hydraulic and engine driven water pumps. You are prepared to work on a rolling roster for overtime weekend road watering as required. 

We are seeking someone who has or is willing to obtain:

  • One year’s experience in a related environment
  • General Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)
  • Class HR Driver Licence
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller
  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans

About the Role

Full time: 76-hour fortnight

Salary: Range from $56,217 to $64,651 pa + 11.5% super
