The role & you

MidCoast Council’s Natural Systems department are seeking a full-time Catchment Weed Biosecurity Officer. Working with the Strategic Weeds Biosecurity team, this position is responsible for undertaking weed control planning, weed inspections, and on the ground weed control projects that contribute to the improvement and protection of our community’s natural environment.

The successful applicant will have trade qualifications in Horticulture, Bush Regeneration, Conservation and Land Management or a similar field and a current Chemcert Accreditation with experience in the operation of small plant and spray equipment. This is a collaborative role working in the community and requires strong communication, problem solving, and computing skills and a commitment to customer service excellence.

Salary: Commencing salary package range circa $69,118 to $78,000 p.a. plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills and experience.)  

Location: This position will be based at our Administration Centre in Yalawanyi Ganya at 2 Biripi Way, Taree. You will also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region. 

Tenure: Permanent, Full Time.

Closing date: Sunday 20 April 2025 at 11.30 pm.
