We have an exciting opportunity for two part-time Youth Officers to become a part of our dynamic Youth Development team at the Rockingham Youth Centre.

As a Youth Officer, you'll use your experience in engaging and supporting young people aged 12-24, running programs, activities, and events that make a real impact. If you thrive on building strong relationships, fostering positive change, and helping shape youth-led initiatives, this role is for you! You’ll be a key player in promoting a safe, inclusive environment, ensuring the wellbeing of young people, and adhering to high standards of duty of care, safeguarding guidelines and the Youth Work Code of Ethics.

To be considered for this role, you must address the following selection criteria as part of your online application:

  1. Progress towards or qualification in Youth Work (or relevant discipline)
  2. Excellent interpersonal and facilitation skills, especially the ability to communicate and relate with young people from a range of diverse backgrounds
  3. Experience in development and delivery of recreational or social programs for young people
  4. Demonstrated experience and understanding of the Youth Work Code of Ethics, child safeguarding principles and the duty of care requirements for young people
  5. Current ‘C’ class Driver’s Licence and Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain)

We are offering a gross salary of $80,559 per annum (pro rata) and;

  • 11.5% superannuation plus the opportunity to co-contribute up to 5%
  • A variety of health and wellbeing programmes including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payments of up to $150 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) services
