$48.20 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)

This position is classified as a PACS Band 5 under the City of Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.

What’s on Offer

An opportunity exists for a Youth Officer to join the City of Kwinana’s Youth Development Team. Reporting to the Youth Development Officer, you will support the delivery and evaluation of programs and activities aimed at young people aged 12-24 years that increase skills, resilience and participation in the local community.

This will include engaging with, motivating and supervising young people in both the daily drop-in times and other programs at Zone Youth Centre, as well as community based activities and outings.

What You’ll Need

  • Previous experience in youth program planning, development and delivery, youth centre drop-in supervision, or a similar role.
  • Sound working knowledge of youth issues, youth work practices, and youth and community development principles.
  • Sound analytical, report writing, data collection and computer literacy skills.
  • Well-developed interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to work effectively independently.
  • Tertiary qualification in youth work or similar, or significant experience in a related field.
  • Driver’s Licence and willingness to obtain Police Clearance, Working with Children Check, Provide First Aid Certificate and work after hours and weekends.
